Police are interviewing five juveniles and charges are forthcoming after the youths took a late night joyride in a stolen vehicle early Tuesday morning and collided with a Dale City home, reports the Manassas Patch.
The group of five, made up of four girls and one boy, allegedly fled the Molinari Emergency Shelter Home in Manassas at around midnight and stole a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado from a home on Reynolds Place. They then drove to the Williamstown region in Dumfries, VA, where one of the girls broke off from the group.
At around 7:40 a.m. on Tuesday, several residents contacted Prince William County police with reports of a vehicle driving recklessly, including a hit and run wherein the vehicle collided with a parked car in Kilpatrick Place in Dumfries and drove away.
Soon afterwards, a Prince William County officer attempted to pull over the vehicle but the driver refused and a pursuit resulted. During the chase, the driver of the suspect vehicle lost control at the corner of Cardinal Drive and Choate Court in the Dale City area and smashed into a residence.
The occupants then attempted to escape on foot, but were soon captured by police. The girl who left the group of juveniles earlier in the morning was also located.
Prince William County police are currently conducting interviews, and charges are immanent. We will keep you updated as the story unfolds.
